Bust a Move

We met my Grandma for lunch on Friday. We all enjoy Carl's Jr. - they have great milkshakes. The kids each got a game of tic-tac-toe in their meals. Lauren and GeeGee were have a wonderful time playing together.

Tonight we headed out to Aaron's parents for dinner. They had gotten a new fridge for their trailer so they had a nice BIG box for the kids to play with. Michael made windows and they had fun for quite awhile.

After dinner Lauren requested some dance music. The kids were having a blast dancing with their Mimi. Thank you guys for a wonderful night.

A Fun Time

We headed to our favorite local pizza place for dinner last night. Jen and I decided pizza sounded better then cooking (thanks Jen). The kids love to play and burn energy, we adults like that we can talk. This was Colin's first time in public with undies on and he kept them dry. He is doing great with potty training. Sunday was awful and Monday morning was almost as bad. He came running to me on Monday afternoon saying he needed to go potty and has been doing great since then. Jen had some Bob the Builder toys that she knew Colin would love and she hadn't given them to Andrew so she let me have them. He has earned all five and still doing great. We headed out tonight in undies. It is a wonderful feeling to know that I'm done buying diapers. Thanks to everyone and their ideas, suggestions and words of wisdom. I think he will make it.

Monday

Well we had an interesting weekend. After Saturday I was so hopeful for Sunday. Aaron had to work on Sunday and Lauren was at my parents so it was just Colin and I getting ready for church. I had stripped the bottom half of him because this had worked the last two mornings. I kept trying to get him to use the bathroom but he was being VERY stubborn. I finally ran upstairs to brush my teeth and came back down to find poop on my new rug. I was not happy. He had already chocked and puked that morning. I gave him a bath after I cleaned up and off to church we went. He never did use the toilet that morning but Daddy was home by the time nap was over and he happily went for him. He stayed dry that evening until right before bed. Today has been better but not great. He was refusing to use the bathroom this morning until right after lunch he came running to me saying he needed to go and then went in the toilet. He used it again after nap so maybe he is just better later in the day. I'm realizing with Colin that it must be his idea and then he is great but if he is not into it right now then he won't even try. I think he will get it, it will just take longer. I'm sure you all have loved reading my play by play but sometime I just need to vent and that is why I have a blog.
Onto a better subject.
Lauren was the supper star at school today. Which means she got to do calendar time and be the line leader. She knew it was her turn so she was very excited about school today. She also had daisies after school today and was able to pick up the clay man she had made last week. Her troop leader was baking it for her. She loves daisies and everything they do there.

Until later.... I'm off for more fun.

Update

We have been potty training all morning with great success. He has used the toilet many times and kept his pull up or undies dry for quite a few hours. At least this gives me hope

Final Birthday

There are two posts today:

I was having lots of fun playing with all the stuff I could do with circles in these two layouts. Lauren had a great 5 days of celebrating. She had requested to spend the night in a hotel with a pool for her birthday and we like to make birthdays special so we granted her wish. We were able to meet Aaron's cousins and family for dinner on Sunday, which was great. They have kids our kids age just opposite order. It was a great dinner even if Colin needed a "chit chat". We headed to the Children's Museum on Monday and had a wonderful time. They were having a special Bob the Builder exhibit. Colin has been really into Bob lately so we were all really excited about seeing everything. The kids had so much fun.

This video captures a little bit of Colin's excitement and being able to be in the Bob machines. He just kept running between all of them.

The water room was a big hit with both kids. My kids don't get to play in water so this was a real treat.

My Little Helper

Colin has been very into helping in his own special way. I tried some new stuff with this layout. It may need a little bit of tweaking but I think it's okay.
Potty training update: Colin went potty in the toilet this morning but that's been it. We will keep trying.

YEAH!!!!

My son went potty in the toilet. It may be a total fluke but he did and we made a HUGE deal about it and talked about going more tomorrow. Now he know he can so we will be trying big time tomorrow. My goal is potty trained by 3....... Sorry I don't take pictures of this.

Lauren's Family Party

I feel like I have been partied out. Lauren is definitely 6. She celebrated for 5 days so I have a few more layouts to do. We had a great party on Saturday. There was great food, amazing company and a cake that really stuck with us all.

Happy Birthday Lauren

Today is Lauren's birthday and she is officially six. I feel like we have been celebrating for day because we have. We headed up north yesterday to spend the night. Lauren had asked to stay in a hotel with a pool for her birthday. We went to the Children's Museum today and had a blast. I will have those pictures later but I wanted to celebrate Lauren today.
Leave her a comment and let her know how special she is to all of you.

6 Friends

We had Lauren's party on Thursday but it has taken me a few days to figure this layout out. Cheryl was up on Saturday and showed me some new things. I still think there is lots to learn but I'm getting it. We had a great little party. I'm thankful that one mom stayed or it would have been just me.

Colin's Take on Lauren's Party

We had our family party for Lauren tonight. I let Colin have my little camera while Lauren was opening presents. It kept him happy while she got lots of attention. He took 77 pictures in 14 minutes and was loving every minute of it. These are just a highlight of the masterpieces from my son. I will be working on my layouts in the next few days. Thank you everyone who came, Lauren had a wonderful time. I am still VERY full from the cake. It may have been ugly but it was yummy.

Friday Night

We had Lauren's friend party on Thursday but I'm trying to do a layout and am having some trouble so it will have to wait. It hasn't been a very exciting week. The weather has been cold and foggy so we haven't left the house much. We went to Red Robin tonight which seems to always be a hit with the kids. We tell them if they eat good then they get a balloon. Tonight we got two balloons. Lauren had cantaloupe with her dinner and it turned her face yellow. We are getting ready for party number two tomorrow. Aaron baked the cake tonight and it smells so good. I will try to get her party pictures posted.

A Rare Picture

During quiet time today Lauren was watching a show and I was resting for a few minutes. I looked over at her and she was asleep. This is VERY rare. I can't remember the last time Lauren took a nap. She doesn't even rest often when she is sick. I chose this time to take an uninterrupted nap. I woke after a bit and she was still asleep. I got up and was productive for awhile until both kids were up. This was so rare I had to take a picture to capture the moment.

These are from Saturday. Aaron was installing a new stereo in his car all day and I needed the kids to get some fresh air. We bundled up in our new hats and gloves from Gee Gee and burned some energy.

More Playing

I posted twice today.
I'm starting to go back and scrapbook 2008. I finished January and am now on to February. I promise not to post them all but I like how this one turned out. I used some of my new "skills". I know there is more to learn but I am finally liking PSE.
P.S. still no potty in the potty. I'm losing hope

Just Playing

I've been trying some new stuff with my PSE. In the first one I tried hue saturation and then recolorizing some of the picture. I've seen this done and it can be cool. Not sure I love what I did but I'm just trying to get some stuff figured out.

In Colin's picture I was playing with the eraser. I did like how buddy turned out. I used my new stamps as erasers.

We are just home today. I'm trying to potty train Colin with ZERO success. He has gone through two undies and one pull-up. I think this is going to be a very long process in my life. If anyone has any suggestions of how to get a very stubborn little boy to want to go potty please share your ideas with me.

Pajama Day

Today was pajama day at Lauren's school. She was feeling better and had no fever so I allowed her to go to school. She thought it was very funny when I told her to go get dressed because she only needed to put socks on.

Colin and I headed to the gym today. It was so nice to get back to my normal routine. I feel like I have been at home for at least two weeks and that is not normal for me.

I'm really hoping that we are done with this round of sickness and that Aaron and I stay healthy.

More Sickness

I'm sorry there are no pictures today. Colin is finally healthy enough to be around other kids but Lauren came down with a fever tonight. She prayed tonight that she would be better by Friday because it is pajama day. It was very sweet. Please keep my kids in your prayers. I will try to have pictures soon.

P.S. Colin is doing great with his glasses. He's had them almost two months and seems very well adjusted. He has started commenting on other people wearing glasses just like him. One battle down now on to potty training.

Mommy I want Wii(d)

A few layouts from the first week of 2009. I'm feeling more comfortable using my new software but know it can do so much more then I'm doing. All in good time, I will learn. Colin's fever finally broke late yesterday - that was 5 days. YUCK!! He still has a nasty cold but I'm hoping he is on the mend. Lauren went back to school today and got to have Daisies. She loves both and had a great time.

The kids really do love our Wii, although Colin calls it Wiid. We are working correcting that. It could be a little embarrassing in public. Lauren is an awesome little Wii bowler. Aaron made Colin his own Mii so now we are a family. Very cute.

Year in Review

We didn't make it to church today because Colin is still sick, although his fever broke last night. Lauren slept until 7:45, which is when we would have needed to leave. I took this opportunity and finished 2008. I love this layout. It took me awhile to do but I really like how it turned out. I still don't have all the effects figured out but am determined to keep trying.

Christmas - parents

I'm still working on finishing Christmas. Colin has been sick this entire year (yes, I think I'm funny). Unfortunately when Colin is sick he just wants to be with me, on the couch, and holding my hands. He finally ate dinner tonight so I'm hoping he is feeling better. I'm determined to get done and not to far behind for 2009. (so Colin is happy with Aaron so I did a very quick page but finished Christmas. Time for 2009)

Start of 2009

We had a wonderful New Year's Eve with Mark and Jen. Aaron made us lots of little treats throughout the evening while we played games. We watched the ball drop and then Colin was awake. He had a fever all day yesterday and today and did not sleep well or long last night. Hope everyone else had a great start to the new year. We are hoping ours improves.

Happy New Year

Happy 2009 to everyone. I'm hoping to get some pictures posted later but just incase I don't. I wish all of you who read my blog a happy new year.

Yes, I did make it up until midnight.
